Ψ Economic Roles:
All must serve a purpose in the Shoal, while there are those that might fall into the cracks and have no real direction; those are also the individuals who have little means to gain respect from the rest of the Shoal until they have chosen a path or paths to follow. Everyone works for the betterment of the Shoal using their various talents regardless of what those talents are.
-
[I.E Warriors, Healers, Mystics] These are just a few examples of Roles that Sea-Folk can take on to provide back to the Shoal and for themselves.
-
Behavior: While the Valithyian Titanica is made up of various species of Sea-folk with different temperaments, they still adhere to specific social norms.

Ψ Folkways:
-
Valithyian people do not believe in weakness and attempt to weed it out as often as possible. A sort of ‘sink or swim’ mentality.
-
All Sea-folk of the Valithyian are expected to pass a ‘right of passage’ long before their coming of age, it varies from tribe to tribe, but all are expected to have passed such before their 100th year.
Ψ Taboos:
-
To be with someone outside of sea-folk (land-dwellers) is frowned upon and not overly accepted among the shoal. However, while most will have a distaste for it, ultimately most will ignore it so long as it doesn’t affect the shoal.

Ψ Mores:
Ψ Leadership and Social Classes:
-
Leaders are only leaders because they have proven themselves capable of leading and having the betterment of the Shoal in mind. Those not acting in the interest or betterment of the Shoal are replaced quickly.
-
Social standing among the shoal is wholly based on the merits of the individual regardless if that merit is strength, magic, or intellectually based.
-
While parentage can be highly regarded and respected, living off the merits of your parents can only go so far and all the young mer are expected to prove themselves and break away from their parentage.
